9 Ways NOT To Get Your Ex Back

So you want to get your ex back, and you're looking for ways to do that. Great! But you need to be careful what you actually try, because there are a lot more wrong ways to do this than there are right ways, and if you're not careful, you may end up pushing your ex further away instead of attracting them back to you.

Here are 9 of the most common ways people unknowingly use to push their ex farther away:

  1. Call them several times a day. This will drive them crazy and maybe inspire them to block your number. But you can always get more numbers, right? You could use disposable cell phones or call from a friend's phone if you really want to make them nuts.
  2. Write them over and over telling them how much you miss them. Send emails, text them, send snail mail, leave notes on their windshield. This is a great way to get their attention. And push them farther away.
  3. Remind them often of things they said and promises they made to you. Who says you have to accept that things have changed? They told you once that they loved you; they must have meant "forever", right? Constantly remind them of these things; it'll remind them what a good idea it was to break it off with you.
  4. Follow them around. Stalk them. Let them know that wherever they go, you'll be right there with them. Every breath they take, every move they make, you'll be watching. Be sure to smile nice whenever they see you. And be sure to smile nice when you get served with that restraining order.
  5. Pester their friends. Seek out their friends and ask how your ex is doing. See if their friends will tell you where your ex is going to be. Try to be wherever your ex and their friends are. This is an awesome way to get your ex to avoid you.
  6. Call their new boyfriend or girlfriend and let them know in no uncertain terms that you are the only one for your ex, and that it's only a matter of time until your ex dumps them and gets back with you. Not only will this cause you ex to lose total respect for you, it'll also make you a new enemy, and may even make them closer as a couple.
  7. Call their parents and try to be as much a part of their parents' lives as you were before the breakup. Heck, try to be even more a part of their parents' lives then you were before the breakup; you'll either a) get their parents mad at you, b) drive a wedge between them and their parents, or c) all of the above. Whatever happens, you've managed to push your ex further away, and that's what you're going for, right?
  8. Come on to their best friend. Here's another great double-whammy: your efforts to make them jealous may end up ruining their friendship, and, sooner or later, the best friend is going to realize you were only using them to get your ex jealous and they'll hate you, too. Score!
  9. Call their job repeatedly and ask about them, or ask to talk to them; this is almost certain to drive your ex away from you, especially if they lose their job over it.

These are just 9 of the many ways to fail big time at getting your ex back. If you've ever considered doing any of these, cross them off your list right now. If you've already tried one or more, throw away the rest of the list.

You might want to consider getting help from someone who's had success at helping people get back together with their ex - a little help can go a long way.
